do we want velvet

Although velvet seemed a sucess, do we want to wear it? Jean Paul Gaultier's design stood out the most but it wasn't exactly wearable. Prada was looking down with their frumpy dress. Was it high fashion or Gordman's sale?
In any case we're questioning: is velvet in?

hello 99

Hello 1999! I love these Doc Marten Boots. They remind me of the 1999 parties when people would paint their Docs. They remember. On my wishlist right after iTouch.

style alert: silken floss

So did we like The Spirit? Opinions may vary but one thing we can all agree on is that Silken Floss (Scarlett Johanson) delivers the 40's style. Her professional take on the role is brought but with a high class 40's fashion. From the sexy lipstick to the jeweled glasses and to the even risky beanie hat, she served one hell of a show not only kicking good-guy butt, but also adding high-end taste to it. Eternal applause.
If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it. Imagine the color and style of Sin City and the classic action scenes from Dick Tracy. Combine it together and you have one awesome super-hero movie. Bravo!

Here are some sleek things to add to your Christmas list.
1. The new Zune. Chances are that it goes in style soon. It has more features than the iPod.
2. The movie Wall-E. Breathtaking HD graphics and amazing animation.

interview with loveandasandwich

We interviewed the amazing artist and plush maker Love and A Sandwich!

Recess Blog (R) : What inspires you in your art? Is it based off someone you know?

Loveandasanwich (L) : Other art constantly inspires me. Clothing design, architecture, cinematography, other plush artists. Animal documentaries are really inspiring. The things I enjoy doing in my everyday life inspire me too. Usually when I start a new design I just think of everything I like and how I could combine a lot or a few of those things into one plush.

R: How would you describe your sense of style? What do you make the most?

L: Bright, spontaneous and cutesy creepy. I definitely make monsters the most, they're my favorite because there's unlimited ways you can make them.

R: What cartoon character are you most like?

L: I'm like Ash Ketchum (from Pokemon), I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was.

R : What do you think people should look forward to? Like a new design?

L : Oh man, ummm. I've been planning a lot of things lately. I'm working on a plush project with my pal cat called ME PLUSH YOU which is gonna be started in mid-January. I'm working on some 3 foot tall monsters, and I have my website in progress! And maybe some paintings, too.

R: Just imagine you're president. What would be your first official act?

L: Banish Bush to Iraq for eeeeternityyyyyy.

R: You've made several items. What's your favorite and why?

L: Hahaha I've made quite more than several! I don't know if I could pick a favorite, they're like my children! You love them all. But I think it would be either Weeko or Bunwich.

R: What's your advice to the gazillions of people out in the world looking at your art?

L: Haha gazillions!? Well, straight out of the mouth of The Tick, don't be a crybaby, be a TRYbaby.

holiday gift guide part 2- mimonotb

Yep. Another installation of le Holiday Gift Guide. I would like to feature Mimobots. They are pretty much designer flash drives. A perfect way to look professional and stylish. I do warn they can get pricey but it's worth having amazing art and storing about 8 gigs. Oh yeah! I almost forgot, they have different artists make these so just search around. You'll be surprised how cool they are!
Have fun shopping!

holiday gift guide- laas

If you want one of these head over to www.loveandasandwich.etsy.com
She has wonderful stocking stuffers and great gifts for anyone. I will be getting myself one for Christmas!
Chelsea, the creator, has been featured several times for her outstanding plushies, bags, coin purses, etc. They are truly overwhelming.
If you want to get a nice stuffed animal don't go for a disgusting MADE IN CHINA toy. Go for handmade and handsewn!

Macy's Day Rickroll

Wow. I didn't watch the Macy's Day Parade and I'm glad I didn't but I did see a wondeful clip of the Foster's Home for Imaginary friends float. It's really cooool. I wonder who makes those floats. They're genius. Here's the clip:
